The most difficult way to travel is by means of prostrations. In each prostration, I stretched at full length upon the snow, touching the furthest place I could reach with my fingertips. Then I stood up and walked to that place, and began another prostration. The result is that my body touched every millimetre of the road along the journey.
This is said to cleanse the heart and mind, rendering it flexible and expansive, and generate good karma for all sentient beings.
